Biking Bishop revs round the Diocese

  The Bishop of Chester, Mark Tanner swapped his mitre for his motorcycle helmet and took to the roads with a biking fraternity for ‘Biking the Bounds’, an annual summer road tour of parishes in the Diocese of Chester.  Starting from Bishop’s House the 90 mile round trip went to Whitewell via Shocklach, on to Audlem via Marbury, Alsager via Wybunbury and Whitegate via Elworth before returning back to Chester  Bishop Mark was joined by members of the biking group,…

The Bells Rang Out on D-Day

The Bells in our churches rang out on Friday 6th June to commemorate D-Day. In the case of Whitewell, the single bell was rung 80 times to mark the 80th Anniversary. The evocative sound of the lone bell could be heard all around the parish, producing a flurry of comments on social media, which themselves paid tribute to the brave young men who gave their lives for our freedom.
